CrossFit Dubbo athletes on the rower


CrossFit Dubbo was the first and original CrossFit affiliate to open in Dubbo. It was established by CrossFit Games Masters Athlete, Duncan Stephens, in December 2012. Originally operating from a modest box in North Dubbo, CrossFit Dubbo relocated to a purpose-built building in BlueRidge Business Park in 2015.


CrossFit Explained

CrossFit is broadly defined as constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity.

The goal of CrossFit is to increase a person’s work capacity across broad time and modal domains.

It was developed by a highly respected Olympic and elite athlete coach and trainer in the US, Greg Glassman.

His intention and philosophy, as well as the results achieved by those who choose to pursue it, is why many define CrossFit as the sport of fitness.

The movements

Master the basics of gymnastics: dynamic bodyweight movements such as pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds.

Bike, Sprint, Swim, Row, etc, hard and fast.

Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, Squat, Press, Clean, Jerk, and Snatch.

Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combination and patterns as creativity will allow.
